United Health Story
United HealthCare Corporation
started its operations in 1977 by straightaway acquiring Charter Med Inc.,
a small company started by a group of physicians and other health care
professionals. After several mergers and acquisitions, United HealthCare
Corporation re-christened itself as UnitedHealth Group, which had its
branches of operations namely, UnitedHealthcare, Ovations, Uniprise,
Specialized Care Services and Ingenix. And since then, UnitedHealthcare
has emerged as America’s
leading medical insurance coverage provider.
Modern United Health Insurance
More than 70 million Americans
are benefiting from the products and services offered by modern
UnitedHealthcare. With a network of over 550,000 physicians, 80,000
dentists, and around 5,000 hospitals, UnitedHealthcare is even offering
affordable drugs to over 13 million people all across the country. In the
past 5 years, UnitedHealthcare has invested over $3 billion in research
and development, technology and business process improvements.
